Ohio U big Upset over Georgetown

Armon Bassett was moments removed from helping No. 14 seed Ohio University pull one of the great upsets in NCAA Tournament history a 97-83 shellacking of No. 3 Georgetown last night in the first round of the Midwest Regional yet he repeated what he had been telling his teamates for days. "In this tournament you don't necessarily have to be the better team, you just have to be the better team in that particular game," Bassett said. "And we were the better team." If Ohio State is to satisfy many office-pool predictions by diving to at least Elite Eight depth, then one player in particular must channel a certain Michigan State legend. No, not Evan Turner, whom Michigan State coach Tom Izzo recently compared to Magic Johnson. Certainly, it helps the Buckeyes NCAA Tournament chances if Turner copies what Johnson accomplished during the Spartans' run to the 1979 championship. But Ohio State will still be fine even if Turner only matches his current averages of 20.3 points, 9.2 rebound and 5.9 assists, which, by the way, match up extremely well with Johnson's sophomore championship season (17.1, 7.3, 8.4) They need their center to come up big, let see what happen tonight, Hopefully the Buckeyes will play on Sunday. 12 12 down and gone
