Task at hand

The great John Wooden of UCLA who teams won 10 out of 12 years the NCAA Basketball Championships from 1964-1975 once said Task at hand. As I walk into another day of sobierty that thought has been with me all day. Many time in life some one will say they or someone else made me have a bad day. I say that is a reach, maybe a bad moment not the whole day. Lets look at that thinking. A moment you can recovery and save the day and move on. What I'm saying is I need to live my life moment to moment. It hard to deal with the whole day at one time, but I can deal with moments at a time. Which lead me back to the thought task at hand. What ever is in front of me just deal with it and move to the next thing when it time comes. I found out that I lost my way on that way of thinking. Which will lead be to talk about meditation in the coming blogs. I have heard that meditation is a way of coming home to yourself. It been a long time since I have really been at home or at peace with myself. Today was the first day in a long time that I meditate and that was the key to my 17 years of sobierty. So when we blog on tomorrow. I thinking meditation will be a thought for the day and days to come.

Changing the subject

Well my friend it been almost a year since I have communication with you. What have I been doing falling into a hole. Thing happen for a reason. The first reason is what I have done and how I react to what has been done to me. I have been talking about changing the blog subject manner for a while. Now I have something to blog and it the hole that I have allow myself to fall into. I know a lot people who write or blog it all about up lifting and that is great. I'm going to come at thought or angle were a lot of people might be right now in there life's. That thought is I'm down and how do I get up. Right now that is were I'm at. Hopefully I will be able to get up and do great thing again, but I just want to try to learn something from this fall from grace. I'm going to tell you something and it going to be very hard for me to say. Here it is, I had 17 years of no sobierty and I allow that to change. Now hopefully you can see were this blog is going. On this day I have 1 day of sobierty and hopefully I can get back some of that focus that I use to have. I think and I don't want to say I know but I don't think many people will read this so I'm doing this for myself and if someone else get something from it, God bless you.

Ohio U big Upset over Georgetown

Armon Bassett was moments removed from helping No. 14 seed Ohio University pull one of the great upsets in NCAA Tournament history a 97-83 shellacking of No. 3 Georgetown last night in the first round of the Midwest Regional yet he repeated what he had been telling his teamates for days. "In this tournament you don't necessarily have to be the better team, you just have to be the better team in that particular game," Bassett said. "And we were the better team." If Ohio State is to satisfy many office-pool predictions by diving to at least Elite Eight depth, then one player in particular must channel a certain Michigan State legend. No, not Evan Turner, whom Michigan State coach Tom Izzo recently compared to Magic Johnson. Certainly, it helps the Buckeyes NCAA Tournament chances if Turner copies what Johnson accomplished during the Spartans' run to the 1979 championship. Taking a look at the 1st round

The NCAA tournament is on today. I will take a look at the best games of the day, the 8 & 9 and 7 & 10 games. UNLV and Northern Iowa, there is something about picking the lower seed teams, I will pick Northern Iowa. 7 and 10 team Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech this winner will most likely play Ohio State and my winner for this game is Oklahoma State. Good old Gonzaga seed No. 8 playing No. 9 Florida State, Gonzaga hasn't fair to well this year, so I'm picking Florida State. This No. 10 seed just made it in the dance, I will pick the No. 7 team to get the win in this contest and that team is Brigham Young over Florida. At one time this year Texas was a No.1 team in the country and they drop all of the way out of the top 25, how often does that happen, Wake Forest beating Texas. We will go to the ACC for the No. 7 seed, Clemson putting Missouri out of the dance. I think this will be the best game of the first round, Louisville and California the winner of this contest will be the Cardinal of Louisville. The last one of the first round is who cares, I will go with St. Mary over Richmond. So there you have it my friends, have at it as the car drivers would say. 12 12 down and gone.

A look at the tournament

This is the great time of the year, spring, baseball season, sunshine and hope. I will take a look at some of the first round games today. The first game I will look at is Tennessee playing in the Midwest No. 6 seed (25-8) against No. 11 San Diego State (25-8). Well, both of these teams have the same record and one of them we get their 26th win and the others their 9th defeated. I'm going to pick the lower seed to win this game and that is San Diego State. Lets go the the West this team that I'm going to pick has the most win of any in the tournament, but they are a No. 13 seed. I think they will beat the No . 4 seed Vanderbilt and that team is Murray State (30-4). Here is another game for a lower seed I think will get the upper hand on the higher seed, Siena No. 13 in the South with a (27-6) I think they will knock off No. 4 Purdue (27-5). There is this person that I work with that went to Ohio U and they think they can beat Georgetown, just keep your eye on this one. Georgetown is the No. 3 seed in the Midwest with a solid (23-10) record on the other hand Ohio U is (21-14) and No. 14 seed. This isn't going to be an upset it going to be a blow out. 12 12 down and gone.

Ohio State Big Ten Champion

I'm an Ohio State fan big time and when the basketball season started back in November, my thinking was if Ohio State could finish the season with 20 win and 10-8 in the conference I would be happy. Eight games into the season Evan Turner broke his back and I thought the season would be lost. He was to be out for 8 weeks and he came back in 3. To started the Big Ten season off without Turner and 0-2 in the conference, Turner came back for the third game against Indiana and they won. The next trip was going to Minnesota and they lost now they are 1-3, next game undefeated and No. 4 Purdue on their floor. Purdue leading 43-29 at the half and it look like the Buckeyes were going to be 1-4. This is when their season turn around, they won that game 70-66 and from that point they when on to win 16 out of 17 in the Big Ten. So me being an Ohio State fan this has been a great season. I do think that Evan Turner will be the National Player of the Year. Just think how he won the Michigan game and the Big Ten Player of the Year. The Big Dog did eat this past weekend, on to March Madness. 12 12 down and gone.

All conference tournament will continue No. 1 Kansas will play Texas Tech today in the Big 12 today. Alabama will play Kentucky in the SEC tournament they will most likely get the No. 1 seed for the NCAA tournament. Let go to the ACC Duke will take the court with Virginia with hopes of get that 4th No. 1 seed. The Big Ten will have their two teams on display today Purdue and Ohio State trying for that 4th No. 1 seed. Outside chance West Virginia beat Cincinnati last night at the horn and they play Notre Dame in the big East today. Notre Dame is trying to play their way in the field of 65 with a victory over West Virginia. Another team trying to work their way in is Illinois they have to beat Wisconsin. Michigan State playing for respect in the Big Ten, earlier this season they had a 3 game lead on the field of the Big Ten and they were 9-0 and they finish with a 14-4 record and a three way tied. Purdue had a three game set back in the Big Ten early and they came back to share the three way tied with Ohio State and Michigan State. Ohio State travel to Purdue earlier this year at 1-3 and finish the season by winning 11 out of 12 games and a 14-4 record. Enjoy the games today. 12 12 down and gone.

First day of March Madness

To me this is the first day of March Madness, day number 2 of the Big East Tournament all of the small ones out of the way. Butler won their tournament and UConn was beaten by St. John's in the Garden to open the Big East tournament last night 73-51. Today the tournament will get going big time in the Garden, with 4 games on tap. ACC and SEC they also start today. The rest of the big boy will open their tournament tommorow Big Ten and Pac Ten. Ohio State will try to win the the Big Ten tournament, so they can hold down the 4th number 1 seed in the NCAA tourament. Kectucky will be the favorite of the SEC tournament, I still hold my thought about them being too young to win it all. There is Duke the team that has the upper hand in the ACC and if they win that they will be the 4th number 1 seed. The PAC Ten only has one good team and that is California, if I recall correct without checking they have no one in the top 25. I guess they will have 2 teams in the NCAA tournament California and the winner of the PAC Ten tournament. So they will select the teams for the 65 school on Sunday while the Big Ten Finals are going on. So my friends be happy enjoy March Madness. 12 12 down and gone

Change is going to come

I will look back on this day as a changing day in me becoming a writer. One of my many short coming is writing and grammar, I have many thoughts in my head and I think that they are great ones. So coming March 29, I will started going back to school and learn how to write. I have said in some of my other blog that I want to write books. The first one will be essays on 50 great thoughts. I will pick 50 great thoughts and write about them and use the writing as a teaching tool. The second book will be about how we can live without money. I even have movie ideas so my thinking is I will be in school learning how to write for a long time. Presentation is 75% of life if you don't present yourself in a impression way people will not listen at all. So I will have to learn how to write with an great passion and style. Here is one of my quotes that I love, "grow until you go". This is saying in your life you should, "grow until you go", if you stop growing you are then dying and it will not be long for the real death happen. So you will see this blog change in the near future, I love sports but it isn't the real purpose of my life. Who will be the No.1 seeds

Kansas is the No. 1 team in the country and I think they will be a No. 1 seeds. Kansas will win the Big 12 championship by beating Kansas State and they will get a No. 3 seed in the NCAA. Syracuse will be another No.1 seed with a different result Villanova will win the tourney in the Big East. Here is your for sure No. 1 seed Kentucky they will win the SEC tourney. There is something about Kentucky I don't think they we win the whole thing. For one they are too young, and another thing they let team get ahead of them and have to come back from behind, you are playing better team in the NCAA and I don't think that will go over to well. There is one more No. 1 seed to look at, Purdue is missing one of there key player so I think that will knock them out. The team that I think has the best shot at the fourth No. 1 seed is Duke all they have to do is win the ACC tourney, which is weak. Here is a very outside team to get the fourth No. 1 seed, Ohio State but they have got to win the Big Ten Tourney and I just don't see them going through the like of Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue and Illinois. Spring Baseball

It in the air Spring Baseball it been a long cold winter for most of us and I'm tired of it. I'm in Columbus and I think the temp will maybe get close to 50 this weekend. The Washington team has a pitcher that is suppose to be good. So let keep a eye on the Washington National. Another team to keep our eye is Atlanta Braves and an up and coming star, they have an 20 year who is about 6'4" 240 and will be a star soon. I will get his name and we will be talking about him in the future. This is going to be Jeter last season at shortstop and he is still the captain of the Yankees. I want to keep my eye on Seattle team they have a lot of pitchers. Cliff Lee went to them and they have two great one for him to work with. There are great player and situation that I don' t know all the names and situation but we will talk about them. Yesterday was the first full day of Spring Baseball. Texas Ranger another team to keep our eye on can Josh Hamilton stay in the lineup. Cole Hamell is suppose to be a ace for the Philly maybe that might be the reason Philly let go of Cliff Lee. So hang on for a long hot summer and 162 games but first we have got to play 30 in the preseason. By the way I'm a Cleveland and Cincinnati fan. 12 12 down and gone.

Ohio State will be No.1 seed in Big Ten

Ohio State has finish it season in the Big Ten with (14-4). Purdue and Michigan State are currently at (12-4) and the both of them have two games left. Ohio state will have the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tourney which will start next Thursday. Jon Diebler hit seven 3-pointer last night to lead the Buckeyes and their final game of the regular season he was the leading score with 21 points. Willian Buford also scored 17 points and 7 rebs. The National Player For The Year, Evan Turner had 16 points and 12 rebs and 6 assists. The Buckeyes are off until next Friday in the Big Ten Tourney. It is Ohio State third conference title in the last five years (24-7, 14-4), winner of four straight and 13 of their last 15 games. Ohio State has won 7 out of 9 games against Illinois. The Buckeyes are also (17-1) at home this year, the only home lost that they had was against Purdue. Illinois must win it final home game against Wisconsin to get a 5th seed in the Big Ten and a first round bye. I know this will sound bias but The Ohio State basketball team has a chance to maybe have an outside pop at No. 1 seed in the NCAA tourney. Mr. James got a chance to play against the New York Knicks last night, looking at this team how in the world can LeBron want to go to New York, they are bad and don't even try. I think LeBron will stay in Cleveland, he can do whatever he want short of murdering someone. New York fans are crazy and they would want you to win a Championship right away. Oh, the score to the game last night was 124-93, it never was close at all. They not only need LeBron they need two more superstar to go with him. Big game in Columbus tonight Illinois will play Ohio State for the last game in the Big Ten for them and a chance to go (14-4) in the Big Ten and share of the Title. This could maybe the last game in Columbus for Evan Turner. The question is how much Evan Turner wants? He said last week he might come back if he doesn't get enough out of of this season. Now I'm an Ohio State fan I don't see them winning the Big Ten tourney or the NCAA. Next year they have the top class of the nation coming in and only one player is leaving. Michigan State victory tighten Big Ten

Michigan State victory over Purdue tighten the Big Ten. Purdue only scored 16 points in the second half and end up getting beat 53-44. Michigan State is tied for second at (12-4) with Purdue (12-4) with one game remaining Ohio State is at (13-4) at the top of the Big Ten. I guess Steve Alford is a great fit with New Mexico State, winning for the first time in Provo since 2000 and probably going to win the Mountain West Conference. They play BYU into overtime on Saturday and won 83-81. No. 5 Duke was a winner yesterday at Virginia and looking for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA. It took Xavier 2 overtime to beat Richmond yesterday and for them to be in the NCAA tourney. There is only this week and the conference tourney, so this is March Madness. We will keep a close look at the Big East and the Big Ten. I'm truly amaze at what Ohio State has done this year after they started 1-3 in the Big Ten, they have won 12 out of 13 Big Ten games and I have got to say that I was wrong about them at the beginning of the season. James Anderson scored 27 points, Page was perfect from three land at keys times during the game and Oklahoma State denied abid for No. 1 Kansas to go undefeated in the Big 12, with a 85-77 win. James Anderson led the Cowboys with 27 points and has scored in double digits in every game this season. J P Prince and his teammates watch a 19 point lead drop to even. Mr. Prince got things going 90 seconds later it started with a broken play and some clutch free throw and went on to win 74-65. No. 9 Ohio state used another balance game with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists from Evan Turner to defeat Michigan 66-55. The Buckeyes will finish their Big Ten season on Tuesday with Illinois coming to town. Ohio State is hoping for a victory from Michigan State (11-4) against Purdue (12-3), if Michigan State get the victory is would give Ohio State (13-4) the Big Ten lead. The big question is will Evan Turner come back for his senior season at Ohio State? They have the No. 1 High School Classes coming and all five of the Buckeyes starter coming back. We haven't look at the top 10 in the NBA in about two week, by the way this is ESPN and the way they see it. At No. 10 a team with a .500 record and a super star Miami Heat. Age is really looking bad for these guy and they lost to Cleveland last night 108-88 on their own floor, the Celtics their record is 36-20. Coming in this week at No. 8 a team with the same record as the last team, Atlanta Hawks. Nice young team that didn't make any trade at the deadline to improve their team the Thunder 33-23 at No. 7. The raising sun is back in the building at No. 6 the Phoenix Suns 36-23. Here we go to the top 5, the team that beat Cleveland and Boston last week, Denver at No. 5 with a record of 38-19. This team got as high as No. 2 a couple weeks ago and now they are at No. 4 Utah Jazz their record is 37-20. The team that I think is the No. 1 team is at No. 3 The team with King James the Cav's, they were at the top spot 6 out of the last 7 weeks. Can you hold this thought the Magic at No.2 they did beat the Cav's last week and their record is 39-19. The new No. 1 team this week is the team who won the NBA Championship last year, the Lakers 43-15. 12 12 down and gone.

Ohio State and Purdue Winner

Evan Turner had another fine night with 25 points 7 rebounds and 7 assists to help Ohio State to a 75-67 win over host Penn State. Evan Turner leads the Big Ten in scoring and rebounding and second in assists. Ohio State had a 49-32 lead with about 11 minute remaining and with 5:16 Penn State had cut the lead to 59-57. Turner went on a run and in about 3 minutes the score was 67-59. Turner's hold the Big Ten record for Big Ten player of the week he has earned that 9 times in his time at Ohio State. Turner has won the award 6 times this season and the record was 5 by Glen Robinson and Jimmy Jackson. Turner is work on player of the year in college and his resume is looking good. Purdue had a tough time with Minnesota Keaton Grant hit a jumper with 7.7 second left to sealed the deal 59-58 to keep them on top of the Big Ten with a 12-3 record. There is 3 games left for Purdue and Ohio State has 2 games left and both at home for them. Ohio State record is 12-4, they play host to Michigan and Illinois. Kemba Walker scored 21 points to lead U Conn to a 73-62 victory over West Virginia to put their record to 17-11 try for 20 win for the NCAA. Connecticut has won three straight games for the first time since late December. Connecticut has beaten West Virginia 9 out of the last 11 games. West Virginia is 2-3 in there last 5 games after a 6 games winning streak. Kansas has won the Big 12 for the 6 year in a row and still they are the No.1 team in the country. Kansas has won 58 straight home games and 13 in a row after it first lost of the year. Villanova fell to Connecticut and Pittsburgh last week to drop from 3 to 8 in the polls this week. Kansas still No. 1 (26-1) and Kentucky also have a (26-1) is at No. 2. The leader of the Big Ten Purdue check in this week at No. 3 with (23-3). Syracuse No. 4 (25-2) looking for a No.1 seed come March Madness. Duke rounds out the top 5 with (23-4). No. 6 Kansas State (22-4) when the Big 12 tourney comes around they could give Kansas a run for the Championship. The matter will change wihin the next couple of month. I'm going to work on writing some book and the first project will have me writing two books at one time. I like quote and I'm going to do a book on quotes. I'm going to take 50 of the best quotes that I can come up with and write a essay about the quote. I think this could be a great teaching moment. Evan Turner scored 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists as Ohio State outlast Michigan State 74-67 to pull within half game of the Big Ten lead. The Buckeyes are 11-4 and the Big Ten leader Purdue is 11-3 with 3 games remaining for Ohio State and 4 for Purdue. William Buford also scored 17 points and key free throw with 2:55 to regain the lead at 63-62. Turner's hit a jumper to make it 65-62 and on the next time down the court Diebler make a 3 pointer for a 68-62 lead and the Buckeyes never look back. Ashton Gibbs scored 21 points and No. 21 Pittsburgh upset No. 3 Villanova 70-65. Reynolds finished with 20 points and his three fouls shots with 7 second remaining got the Wildcats within 3 But Pitt held on for the victory. Dwight Howard had 22 point and 16 rebounds and handing the Cleveland team their first three game losing streak in two years. Mr James had 30 points in the first three quarter and only had 3 in the final quarter when they really needed him. It is cold and snowy in Columbus on this day and the high temp will be 32. Three weeks away from NCAA tourney and the one thing that happen every year is in the first Monday of April the NCAA championship is played and baseball season open on the same day. You know when you look at life some dates don't change. Labor day is the first Monday of September. So much for that baseball season means the weather is beginning to change. There will be some tough days in March but there will be some great days in March. This Winter has been tough on me and I guess you can see that by the way I'm bloging today. The one team that will be interesting this year will be Seattle. I see them with great starting arms. Once again I will find the the Yankees at the top of the list. Chicago Cubs will be a disappointment again some things don't change. Pittsburgh team will have for the 18th season in a row a under .500 record. I see St. Louis and New York in the World Series in late October. The Dodgers will win the West, Phillies will win the East. The other New York team will be a mess and I'm a Cleveland Indians fan hoping that they will finish .500. Cliff Lee Cy Young winner. 12 12 down and gone.

On this day in the winter of 2010 there is a feet of snow here in Columbus. On Thursday Picther and Receiver report and lets get the basbeball season on the way. I saw in the newspaper a softball baseball score. Baseball please hurry up and get here. I'm an Ohio State fan of all three sports, I think the Ohio State Non-Conference started next Friday in Florida. Why is all this talk about Baseball, because of all of this snow in Columbus. I know I said on Thursday my thinking on the Big Ten and it was Illinois is looking good not on this day. The team that has won 8 straight Big Ten games came into Illinois today look for number 9. Let me say that Illinois has beaten Wisconsin and Michigan State on the road to pull into a three way tied for the Big Ten. I even thought that a victory against Ohio State would put Illinois in the top 25 for the first time this season. The stage was set for Illinois to gain a tied with Michigan State, but no one told the Ohio State team about this thought. No. 13 Ohio State used a barrage of 3's, most of them from Diebler, to take an early 21-10 lead and went on to finish off Illinois 72-53. The Buckeyes were 11 of 22 from 3-point range, including 6 of 11 by Diebler, who led Ohio State with 18 points. Lighty hit a trio of 3 pointers for 17 points. Four games into the Big Ten season Ohio State was 1-3 and heading into No. 4 Purdue on their floor, since then they have won 8 straight conference games and now hold a share of the Big Ten lead with two other teams, Michigan State and Illinois. With Evan Turner 2 foul in the first half 17:25 to go you would think this could a bad place for the Buckeyes. Three games ago Michigan had a 3 game lead in the Big Ten race with a 9-0 record , now they are tied with Illinois for first place with a 9-3 record. Purdue had a three game lossing streak earlier this year and now they put Michigan State on the same streak. E'Twaun Moore scored a season high 25 point against Michigan State on their floor and beat them 76-64. The lost drop Michigan State into a tied for the lead in the Big Ten with Illinois. Both road team won last night with Illinois beating Wisconsin on their floor 63-56 and Purdue moved into a second place tied with Ohio State at 8-3. Yesterday we take a look at the Big Ten, today the Big 12. There are four teams that are in the top 25 and they are No. 1 Kansas, No. 10 Texas, No. 11 Kansas State and Baylor at No. 24. We will look at Baylor first, they are 4-3 in the conference and 17-4 overall. They have a game left with Texas that is one of the top team in the league and the rest is smooth riding. Big Ten Basketball is the look today. At this time Michigan State has the lead in the conference with a 9-1, they play Purdue this Tuesday and if Purdue can do what they did to Indiana last night the race will become a lot closer. Last night Purdue beat Indiana 78-75 for the first time in Indiana in 10 years. The last time they won in Indiana was in 1999. Their record in the Big Ten stands at 7-3 and they are just two games back, along with Wisconsin, Ohio State and Illinois. With all these teams at 7-3 something has got to break in the next three weeks. Michigan State had open the Big Ten season with 9 straight win and they were 9-0 going to the Kohl Center to play Wisconsin and now they are 9-1. Lets talk about how this came about Kalin Lucas injured and carry off the floor in the second half. Lucas, last season MVP of the Big Ten was lost from the 11 minute on and that help Wisconsin seal this game away. I think Wisconsin would have won this game anyway they were ahead most of the night and the final score was 67-49. The No. 16 team in the land play great defense all night, their record is now 7-3 in second place in the conference. Wisconsin won it 18th straight game at home. The Badgers shot better then 50% from the field for the first time in 10 games, 28 out 55. There was a time when Wisconsin was the team that all Big Ten teams beat up on since Bo Ryan has been running the program that has change. The Colts have the edge on this year Super Bowl, Why? This guy name Peyton Manning is why they have the edge. If you take Manning out of the mix the Colts would be a 5 win team. You got a chance to see the other QB Painter and he didn't paint a very good picture. So we need to keep an eye on how the Saints bring Peyton down when they get a chance. Peyton will fall when he is hit he a smart man he don't try to get extra yard or break tackle, he is alway thinking about the next play. It will take Peyton about a quarter and half to figure out what the Saints defense is doing. The one thing I think the Jets didn't do on defense was they didn't change their defense up enough. Peyton will figure the defense out and you have got to change on the fly and keep him guessing. So those are some of the keys to your Super Bowl for Sunday. The thing that I want to be is a writer, now if you have seen any of these writing you can tell I'm not there or even close. What I'm I doing to become that writer I want to be? I think the first thing is to practice and try to act like a writer. So that what I'm trying to do each day as I use this blog for that practice. The second thing will be coming this spring quarter I will be attend classes trying to work on that craft in my life. So that will be one day in the near future you will see this blog and the subject matter will change. The subject matter will become more of a within thinking as the sports outer thinking that I'm doing now. We will take deep quote and write S A about them. Who ever rate this NBA ranking some of them I just don't get, like the first one at No. 10. Charlotte Bobcats they are 22-22 the team behind them at No. 11 is Dallas and they are 30-15, so this is what I'm talking about. The Spurs had climb to as high as No.3 a couple weeks ago and now stand at No. 9 with a 26-18. Oklahoma comes in at No. 8 this week their record is 24-21. The second best team in the East check in at No. 7 the Boston Celtics 29-13. This team at No. 6 has won 9 out of 10 games the Denver Nuggets 31-14. The Magic's have been hanging around the top 5 all year long and here they are at the No. 5 spot and their record is 29-16. Atlanta moved up three spots this week to No. 4 and there record is 29-15. Well there is going to be a new No. 1 the that held down that spot for four week in a row come in at No. 3 this week Cleveland Cav's and by the way they have the best record in the NBA at 36-11. No. 1 isn't a good place to be the last three week. First there was a loss to Kansas, then there was Texas after that. Kentucky last night done the same thing one week at one and done. It was this kid name Downey who scored 30 as South Carolina beat Kentucky 68-62. The team was cautioned by no less than the President of the United State. He told them earlier in the day to keep their focus, but he didn't count on Downey scoring 30 points. Kentucky high point man for the night was Cousins he scored 27 points. First of all, congratation to the Colts and Saints. we will have two whole week to build this game up. Lord knows we don't need all that time but this is the Super Bowl and things go on and on. I think Peyton Manning is the best QB that this report has seen in my 57 years of paying attention, so give me 6 or 7 years to understand and we will say 51 years. This will help Peyton legacy if he can win another Super Bowl. You know how the press is about winning Championship. If he could maybe win this one and another one I think all of the outlets might say he is one of the greatest of all time. You have got to look at a few things he has had a lot of different team mate and pass catcher. The QB who most of the sport people say is the best is that Joe guy he had Jerry Rice his whole time so that speaks volume for him. Peyton makes everybody good in the system that he works. Yes I will say I will pick Peyton over Favre, I think he is a better soldier and leader. Tomorrow we will look at the NBA and their top 10, the surprise teams that are in the top 10. The Cleveland Cav's beat the Lakers again, this time in Cleveland. Cleveland Christmas victory wasn't a gift it was for real. James score 37 points and 12 straight down the stretch, and the Cav's playing their first game without Mo Williams, beat Kobe Bryant and the Lakers 93-87. James finish with 37 points and nine rebounds.The Cav's have won 5 of their last 6 home games against the the Lakers and swept them this season. James has won 7 out 9 of his last meeting against Kobe. Cleveland JJ Hickson record 11 points and 14 rebounds for his first double-double. Kobe finish with 31 point to become the youngest player to record 25, 000 points. This win put the Cav's at 33-11 for .750 and the Lakers are 32-10 for .762. There was only two games in the NBA last night the other L. A. team played and loss to Denver 105-85. Isn't it sad that Blake Griffin will be out for the rest of the season. This is a great team with a lot of great young player and they just can't get any luck at all. This week in the NBA who is No. 1, last week it was the Cav's and they have been No. 1 for three week in a row, can they do it for the four week. No. 10 a new entry the Bobcats of Charlotte with the record of 20-19. Holding down the No. 9 spot they have been in the top 10 all season the Denver Nuggets, their record is 26-14. This team is at their lowest spot all year No. 8 the Boston Celtics 27-12. Coming back down to earth after being at No. 1 and getting beat my the current top team of the week, the Atlanta Hawks 26-14 checking in at No. 7. Here is a nice young team Oklahoma No. 6, they are slowly moving up watch this team 23-18. This team open the season with a 17-4 record and since have gone 9-11, still holding down the No. 5 spot the Magic's 26-15. The Big 12 is a very tough conference it has No. 1 Texas, No.3 Kansas, No. 9 Kansas State. Three teams in the top 10 and last night two of them went at it. The No.1 team in the country and No.9 Kansas State battle and No.9 Kansas State beat No.1 Texas 71-62. The thing to take a look at is the fans don't rush the court, I think they are holding their joy for later on in the year. I think that means they know they have a great team, good for them. Wesley Johnson scored 22 points and Rautins added 21, including 5 of 9 from 3 point, and 5th ranked Syracuse Orange beat Notre Dame 84-71. This is what Farve came back for a shot at winning another Super Bowl and a shot at playing in another. At this point in his comeback he is one game away from both of them. One more win and he is in the Super Bowl with a chance to win it. On yesterday Farve and the Vikings handle the Cowboys 34-3. They have got to go to New Orleans and that is the only thing that is between them and the Super Bowl. How shocking was it to see the New York Jets do their thing in San Diego. Their next game is against the Indianapolis Colts, can they beat the the Colts for real this time. You know a month ago they stop the Colts and their perfect season. So the last four teams that are left are, Indianapolis, New York, New Orleans, and Minnesota. College Basketball on Sunday, Villanova No. 4 in the country beat No. 11 Georgetown 82-77 in Big East play. No. 7 Duke took care of Wake Forest 90-70. This is the time of year when the NFL is in it groove with the playoff. Yesterday the Saints were all over the Cardinals by the score of 45-14. The second game the Colts beat Baltimore 20-3. So next week Indianapolis will play the winner of the New York Jets and San Diego games. Yesterday I was 1-1, I loss the Saints game. I think the winner of today games will be Minnesota in the first one. I will pick San Diego beating New York Jets. Texas has been at the top for one week and find it hard to handle, they had to go to overtime to beat Texas A&M 82-77. No.2 Kentucky had a hard games with Auburn winner 72-67. Former No.1 Kansas had thing a little bit easy over Texas Tech 89-63. The best game of the today was Syracuse playing No. 9 West Virginia, No 5 Syracuse edge them 72-71. First game of the weekend we find Arizona at New Orleans. Can the Saints turn it on again. The Saints haven't played well in over a month, so lets see if they and get it going. Arizona has a great scoring team so they bring a lot of things to the table. The second game of the day on Saturday it will be Baltimore at Indianapolis. I think if Indianapolis can score 21 points they can out last Baltimore. The DB aren't that great for Baltimore so they have got to step up. If Baltimore can run the ball then they can control the game. Lets move to Sunday, the first game is Dallas at Minnesota. The key to this game is the three step drop and get it to the receiver, we are talking about Tony Remo. Dallas has got to hold AD down and get some heat on Favre. If Dallas can control these things they have a chance. Last game on the menu for the weekend is, New York Jets at San Diego. I think Revis is the best DB in the NFL, but the receivers for San Diego are tall and might poise a problem for the DB of the Jets. The Jets have the best running game in the NFL and best defense. For the past two weeks in a row the best team in the NBA has been the Cleveland Cav's, can they do it for the 3rd week in a row, lets find out. At number 10 this week it Oklahoma, hung around with a 21-17 record. Checking in at number 9 this week it Denver Nuggets, they got Mr. Anthony back and they beat Cleveland earlier this week, their record is 25-14. The up and down play of Phoenix Suns let them in at number 8, their record is 24-15. This team has been fallen the past four week, four week ago they were Number 1 now they hold down the number 7 spot the Atlanta Hawks with a 25-13 record. The Magic has been hanging around with a solid spot all year, fallen one spot this week to number 6, their record is 26-13. Each week there is a total pick I just don't get and this one is it, Utah at number 5 with a 21-17 record. The top 4 the big boys are next, at number 4 are the Lakers coming in with a record of 30-9, the best record in the NBA. Still I think this is the best team in the East, it the Boston Celtics, 27-10. I still don't know how the people of the NBA think so much of this team, at number 2 the Spurs they went 8-2 last week, maybe they are getting better, for the year their record is 24-13. Buckeyes suprise Purdue

Evan Turner is back for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He scored 23 of his career high 32 points in the second half. Ohio State rally from a 13 point deficit to beat No. 6 Purdue 70-66. Turner scored 14 of Ohio State final 18 points and also had 9 rebounds. Ohio State withstood one of the best single game effort in Mackey Arena. Robbie Hummel scored 29 of his 35 points in the first half. With 4:07 to play Purdue was ahead 62-52 and from that point on Ohio State out scored them 18-4. Attention Southeastern Conference, Kentucky has a freshman point guard capable of beating teams in a variety of ways. And it not John Wall. Eric Bledsoe scored a career high 25 points, getting to the rim, hitting 3 pointers and making just about everything in between to help the second-ranked Wildcats stay unbeaten with 89-77 victory over Florida. Kentucky is off to the third best start in school history and moved to 17-0 for the first time since starting 23-0 during the 1965-66 season. Arizona at New Orleans, they play on Saturday. Saints quarterback Drew Brees has 68 TD passes over the last two seasons. Kurt Warner is a great QB too passing for more than 26 TD this season. They add Chris Wells to the mix and that help them. On the same day at 8:15 pm on Saturday we have Baltimore at Indianapolis. Peyton Manning has topped 300 yards in six playoff games, tied for the NFL record. The DB for Baltimore aren't the greatest in the world and I think Manning will score just enough to win this game. Flacco just threw the ball 10 times for 40 yards that isn't going to get it done. Sunday games, the first one Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings. The Cowboys have a great front four and they will get after Favre. Tony Remo passes for close to 4500 yard this season and I think he is on point to do his thing against the Vikings. The D will win this game for the Cowboys. Charges quarterback Philip Rivers has not missed a start in four season. New York Jets at San Diego Chargers, I'm drinking the Jet Kool-Aid, I think their D will do the job and pull the upset. I have said before New York Has the best cornerback in all of football and he will close down one half of the football field. Baltimore and Arizona, move on

It didn't take long for the Baltimore team to get going with their game with New England. They were ahead half way into the first period with a 14-0 lead and never look back. In a matter of minutes New England look old and out of place. This isn't the same team of the last 10 years as I print yesterday. Baltimore was just one step better all day and the final score reflect that 33-14. Next up for Baltimore they travel to play the Colts Saturday night. The second game of the day took the same favor Arizona going out to a 14-0 lead half way into the first period and lead at the half 24-10. The Cardinals open up a bigger lead later in the 3rd period, 31-10. Mr. Rodger got his Pack on his back and put together drive after drive and at the end of the regular time the score was tied 45-45. Overtime was the name of this ballgame, Mr Rodger fumble and Arizona took the victory. Arizona will play the Saints, this should be a shot out also. Oh by the way, the number 1 team in college basketball lost last night to Tennessee, so look for Texas to be Number 1 later this week. This was my first perfect weekend I was 4-0. Jets and Cowboys keep going

The New York Jets for the second weekend in a row beat the Cincinnati Bengals and done it well, by the tune of 24-14. I pick New York in this game cause the Bengals play down to the level of teams that they are playing. Chad Johnson should have nothing to say for a long time, the DB for the Jets is the best in the NFL. So that cut off half the field and Palmer isn't the QB everyone thinks that he is. The only thing that Cincinnati had was Cedric Benson and you can't beat a good NFL team with just one thing. Dallas Cowboys are playing well at this time of the year. In their rematch game they just beat up on Philadephia 34-14. Tony Remo is the key and the pieces around him are great. It good to see Dallas playing good again and maybe they can stop talking about firing their head coach. My picks for today will be Baltimore and New England. This is the weekend that the NFL starts their journey toward the super bowl. Wild card weekend with 3 of the 4 games having rematch from last week. The first is a rematch of last Sunday night New York Jets going against the Cincinnati Bengals. This game will be played in Cincinnati and I'm going to have to take the Jets on this game. The Cincinnati team play to the level of the team that they are playing and I think If you let the Jets hang around they will fine a way to win. Dallas and Philadelphia, this game will be in Dallas and I think that Dallas is playing some of the best football of anybody in the playoff. So I will go with the Cowboys in this rematch. There are two more wild card on tomorrow and I will pick them on Sunday morning. The two wild card games are Baltimore and New England. Arenas tried joking about his gun trouble, David Sterns didn't found it funny. Arenas was suspended without pay my the NBA commisioner Sterns, determined that his behavior wasn't fit for the NBA court. A day after the Washington Wizards guard was photographed before a game in Philadelphia pointing his index fingers as if they were guns at his teammates. Sterns said that the former All-Star conduct could "ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhap worse." If he suspended for the rest of the year he will lost 9 millions dollars this year and is owe about 80 millions more over a four year deal. Maybe David Sterns might want to suspended the rest of all of the money that is owe to him. That is a lot of money to throw away for a joke. I think maybe Mr. Arenas needs to grow up in a hurry. Last week your Number 1 team in the NBA was the Cleveland Cav's, who will hold that spot this week? Number 10 this week we have the Denver Nuggets, their record is 22-13. Coming in at the next spot, the Dallas Mav's their record is 24-11. Not in the top 10 for the last two weeks but they are back at number 8, the young Oklahoma team, Kelvin is tough and the real deal, their record is 19-15. The three best team in the East is the 7th best team in the NBA, the Magic's with a 24-10 record. The fun team of the list Phoenix, hanging around the number 6 spot, with a record of 22-13. Moving to the top 5, two weeks ago they were number 1 and they hold number 5 this week Atlanta Hawks 21-12. Lets go to the big boy, number 4, I still think they are the best in the NBA, but who am I, the Boston Celtics, with the record of 24-8. Somewhere in the NBA circle people really think a lot about these guy with the record of 20-12 and 8-2 for their last 10 games, the Spurs at number 3. Top two, this could be the NBA finals, The L. Boise State became the second team in modern history to go 14-0, the other was the 2002 Ohio State National Championship team. Boise State had a fake punt in the 4th period that propell them to a great victory over TCU. The Bengals show no game at all, just letting the Jets beat them down 37-0. Next week they will play again this time in Cincinnati. The Colts for the second time in a row lost this time to Buffalo. The Cleveland Browns won for the 4th time in a row beating Jacksonsville to end their season on a high note. Chicago with the disappointing season that they had won to end on a good sign. San Francisco getting to 8-8 that is an improvement so they are off in the right direction. Pittsburgh has no one to blame but themselves, losting to Kansas City, Cleveland, Oakland and losting 5 games in a row during the season but they finish with a 9-7 record. To me the biggest disappointment of the whole season was the football Giants of New York. They started the year off with 5 win in a row and after that they went 3-8 and for two week in a row giving up 41 and 44 points. Houston can say that they had a wininng season coming back a beating New England and finishing with a 9-7 season. Dallas finally fining a way to win in December can they win a playoff game. I finish with a strong Sunday 9-1 and bring my season record to 121-69. 12 12 down and gone.

Can you believe how bad I been this weekend 3-7 and 1-4 on New Year day. The only game that I got right was Florida win over Cincinnati. So for the year I'm 112-68, I'm going to pick 10 NFL games today, but before I do that how about the Buckeyes of Ohio State that was a great win for them on New Year day. The first game of the day I will pick Buffalo to beat the Colts. The Browns will win for the 4th game in a row out lasting Jacksonsville. Chicago Bears this is a disappointing year but they will finish with a victory. The 49ers getting the best of the Rams. Pittsburgh trying to get in the playoff will get the vicory they need over Miami. This is a team that has been the biggest disappointment of the year the football Giants of New York, they begin the year with a 5-0 record and since counting today they are 3-8, no they will not win today, Vikings winner. Atlanta I think can take care of Tampa Bay. What is happen to Saints, I don't think they can win today so this will be their 3 game in a row with a lost. What a way to started the year with a 2-3 record that the first time I have ever went under .500. Lets hope I do a lot better on the first day of the year, there are 5 games that I will call. The first game of the day we have Northwestern from the Big Ten and I'm picking them to beat Auburn. Last game for Bobby Bowden at Florida State it will be a lost,West Virginia winner. I love the Big Ten but not on this one LSU over Penn State. I'm a Big Ten lover and live in Columbus, Ohio I just can't see Ohio State doing it today, Oregon winner. Florida will be the winner in the last game of the day beating Cincinnati. My record has drop to 111-64 that a Pct of .634. When I started out doing this the first weekend in September my thoughts were going .700 for the year, well it looks like I'm going to come a little short. In the NBA last night there was two teams in the top 10 that played. The Cavs and the Hawks the game was in Atlanta and on tonight they will play again in Cleveland. So you see I already put in print No.1 beat No. 2, which one is No. 1, you will know at the end of this artlice. Checking in this week at No. 10 is the young gun of Portland their record is 20-13. The team that I think can give the Lakers a run for the West is Denver coming in at No. 9 and they support a 20-12 record. This team had a bad Christmas day on TV, maybe that why they move down to No. 8, the Magic with a 22-8 mark. Back to back team that had a bad Christmas day, I guess having a bad means dropping in the ranking, the Lakers, holding down No. 7 and a record of 25-6, by the way that the best record in the NBA. Mr. Caban team going up the the chart at No. 6 Dallas their record is 22-9. Lets do the top 5, the Sunshine in Phoenix and they are at No. 5 and a record of 20-12. This is a surprise the team at No. 4 and getting a lot of push from the press the Spurs and they have the worse record of any of the top teams 18-11. I think this team will come out of the East but they had two bad games this week, and fell to No. 3 the Celtics with 23-7 mark. The Vikings have loss two games in a row, maybe their dream season is slipping or fading away. The Bears not a great team at all won to make their record 6-9. Here is a thought Favre has loss 8 games in a row when the temp is 30 a lower on the road, what does that say. The big matchup in the NBA last night was the Lakers and Suns and the Suns came home with a win beating the Lakers 118-103. Mr Bryant had 34 pionts in the loss. The Suns record now is 20-12 and the Lakers are 24-6. Stoudemire had 26 points for the Suns and on any giving night the Suns are a playoff team. What we will do tomorrow is look at the NBA top 10 team, will it be the Hawks still at number 1 or will they be replace. Christmas day matchup might have something to do with how the rating will go on tomorrow. The Colts and Jim Caldwell lost their first game of the season and this is Coach Caldwell first lost ever. Coach Caldwell rest his players with a lead in the second half and the Jets score 19 points in a row to keep their playoff hope alive. This is the 16th week of football and just think I have never had a perfect week, but this one was. My best record for a week was 9-1, on this week I was perfect 10-0. There have been many week that I was beaten my the Colts and finally I beat them, I thought and said the Jets would beat them. Some other streaks going on just think about the Cleveland Browns they won yesterday and they have won 3 in a row. Anothers streak the Saints have now loss 2 in a row. Tampa Bay beating the Saints in OT and the Saints never got the ball in OT. What do you say about the Giants last game in their stadium and just not showing up at all. College Basketball 1 & 2 win

Kansas and Texas were winner last night the number 1 & 2 team in College Basketball. Number 1 Kansas beat Cal 84-69 and Texas was a winner over Number 9 Michigan State 79-68. Purdue is the number 4 team in the country and they also won. The Conference start in just about a week, Purdue is the big dog of the Big Ten. Number 17 Ohio State was a winner also bringing their record to 10-2 and they will start the Big Ten season on Dec 31 against Wisconsin. The Buckeye hoping to get Evan Turner back by Jan 9 against Minnesota. The start of the Big Ten season for Ohio State will be tough, their first 4 out of 5 games will be on the road, with the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan State and Purdue. If they can overcome that, look for the Ohio State team to be very tough in the Big Ten. Will Kentucky loss this year I pick them to win the National Championship this year. Kobe hit a 15 foot jumper with time expiring with a win over Milwaukee. He is the next thing that is Micheal Jordan. The Lakers I think are the best team in the NBA.
